For those of you that received an Art to-go packet, you should now have a COLOR WHEEL. For those of you that do not, here’s one!
Use this color wheel as you hunt around the house for object(s) in EACH color of the wheel. You can find one, or you can find many. Put them around in a circle, in order & take a picture!
don’t forget to send me your finished product!
Find a spot in your backyard, front yard or local park that is still open. Using any medium of your choosing (crayons, markers, colored pencil, pastel or paint) create the landscape in front of you as if you were Vincent Van Gogh! Do you know who Vincent Van Gogh is? What is special & different about his artwork?
Hunt around outside for objects to create a self portrait. What could look like your hair, or the shape of your lips? Use as much detail as possible. Assemble it on a piece of paper & take a picture. You can even glue them down & save it forever!
*PRO TIP - print out a picture of yourself & trace it with another sheet of paper on top (put it in a bright window so you can see). Use your found objects to trace & fill in those lines.
Using the link below, do a virtual tour of an art museum & find a painting you recognize. Who paints it? What medium did the artist use? What do you like, or don’t you like about it?
Don’t recognize any of the art? Pick your favorite! Who paints it? What medium did the artist use? What do you like about it?
*BONUS - Choose a painting that is a portrait, dress up & pose as if you are in the painting. Take a picture!

For our younger kids:
Find words in a magazine or newspaper describing things that you are grateful for. Cut them out. On a piece of paper draw a flower & use the words you cut out for each petal of the flower.
For our older kids:
Find words & images in a magazine or newspaper describing things that you are grateful for. Cut them out. Tape a piece of paper to the wall & turn out the lights. Sit in front of the paper looking in either direction. Have a parent or sibling shine a flashlight at your face & trace your profile. Use the words & images you cut out to fill your head with gratitude.
Find recycled material to construct a 3 dimensional robot! What could you use to make it metallic? What could be used for legs? arms? antennae? buttons? knobs? eyes? mouth? What special functions does your robot have?
